How was our Thanksgiving, you ask?

Fabulous. Check out all the fun we had...

But we're definitely glad to be home.

What I am thankful for

Psalm 107:8-9

Let them give thanks to the LORD for his unfailing love
and his wonderful deeds for men,
for he satisfies the thirsty
and fills the hungry with good things.

Chillier and Chillier

My good friend from high school, Bridget has been staying with us this week for a visit and we've been having some fun, enjoying the chilly weather. On Friday we took the kids outside in the backyard (all bundled up, of course). Sweaters, jackets, hats, gloves, and boots can be a hindrance, but so far I just think it's too cute to see the kiddos all warm and snuggled in their Fall/Winter gear.

Capelet II

Today's naptime creation was another capelet for Miss Audrey. I used pretty much the same measurements but a dark grey fleece this time. Once I cut it out, I decided to trim the bottom to make big scallops since the fabric is so plain. I think it turned out super cute!

She was obviously thrilled to have her picture taken here. Ha ha.

Trunk or Treat!

Instead of trick or treating this year we went to Grace church (Amanda's parents' church) for a little festival called "Trunk or Treat" where they turn the trunks or back ends of the cars into kiddie games or scenes. The kids LOVED it and had so much fun!

Audrey was a fairy.

Here are the guys and the kids. Aiden the soldier, Ben with Adalae the leopard, and J with Audrey the fairy.

Audrey hugging Dirk! I guess he wasn't too happy about it!

Snoqualmie Falls

Ben and Amanda and Adalae took us to see the Snoqualmie Falls this weekend (before we all started feeling sick). It was nice weather, although chilly, and the falls were beautiful as you can see below... The photo below is NOT my own - it's from the Snoqualmie Falls website. Beautiful, no?

Unfortunately, when we got close to the Falls, the mist, which felt more like rain, would billow up from below and get us all wet! The kids were already showing signs of not feeling well so we didn't end up staying for long, but we're all really excited to go back at some point.

Also, the trail was closed (as you can see from the pic above)... Bummer.

Miss Audrey, peeking at me from under her hood. She wasn't feeling so hot... Sad... Cute boots, though, huh? I love them.

Then, we met this little guy. We like to call him the-much-too-friendly-squirrel. Now, let me tell you... I am not zooming in on this guy - he was THAT close! Obviously, people feed him all the time, but J decided to bust out the kids' snacks and feed Mr. Friendly some Cheez-Its. That's right - Cheez-Its.

Here he is burying the Cheez-Its in the dirt. Uh huh, that's right, he didn't eat them, he buried them. In the dirt. He was obviously starving.

You may ask Jeremiah about this photo. Keep your eyes open for a blog post entitled "What-not-to-teach-your-children Wednesday" or perhaps a "Not me (it was my husband)! Monday" or even "Stop that! Saturday". You can let me know what you think is best.

This picture is for Mom. Jealous much? Thought so.

Here is Miss Adalae, lookin' cute as ever and trying to keep warm in her carrier. brrrr!

And here is the only shot I got of the Falls. They were beautiful but I was too scared of getting my camera too wet. I mean, really, it was practically raining on us. As you can see, there is a lot of water in the falls right now, much more than in the photo taken at the top from last winter. I'm sure we'll be going back soon and I hope to get more good pictures then.

Buh bye!
