5 Things

My totally awesome girlfriend, Kathleen over at Beyond a Mom tagged me to play this game.

So the game goes like this....I have to answer 5 questions with 5 answers and then tag 5 people.

Question 1:
Where were you 5 years ago?
1. Jeremiah and I were newlyweds.
2. We lived in a tiny apartment in Foothill Ranch, which we fondly referred to as "The Box".
3. We were considering a move to Boston. (Thank the Lord we didn't go for it!)
4. I was student teaching, doing a credential program, learning how to be a good wife, and semi-intimidated by the thought of teaching junior high students.
5. I interviewed for a teaching position after only a week or so of student teaching, didn't get the job, and now realize how ridiculous I must have sounded with no experience whatsoever in the classroom.

Question 2:
What is on your to do list today?
1. Laundry
2. Update calendar
3. Get the kids over the Ben and Amanda's to see the fam before they flight out this afternoon.
4. Make a healthy and tasty dinner.
5. One-on-one time with each of the kids.

Question 3:
What 5 snacks do you enjoy?
1. Popcorn - pretty much any variety.
2. Strawberries.
3. Triscuits, salami, and cheese.
4. Butterscotch pudding with cool whip.
5. Chips and guacamole.

Question 4: What 5 places have you lived?
1. Des Moines
2. Tustin
3. Orange
4. Elk Grove
5. Yorba Linda

Question 5:
What 5 things would you do if you were a billionaire?
1. Set up funds for the kids, and grandkids...
2. Buy a plane we never have to fly Delta again. (Aiden prefers a helicopter).
3. Pay someone to do all of my laundry and housecleaning.
4. Buy a house, or two.
5. Tell my husband to quit his job - duh.

5 People I am tagging
1. My sister-in-law, Amanda at Change of Seasons.
2. My other sister-in-law, Sarah at i luv a Goodale..
3. My friend, Jen over at Trzeciak Chatter.
4. My friend, Jess over at The Stegman Family.
5. My friend, Megan over at Ryan-Megan-Kelly.

Handwriting

I guess the title of this post should actually be "Hand Writing" or "Writing on Hands", not "Handwriting". See below...

Me: Honey! Did you really color on your hands? Whyyyyyyy????

Audrey: Yes. Yes, I did.

Crafty Craftiness

We're working on creating more time for crafts in our house lately and my savior in that area has been this website: No time for flashcards.
Check out those fine motor skills! ;)
This marshmallow snowman is my favorite craft that we've done from her website so far.
Pretty sure it's been the kid's favorite, too.
You can probably guess why.
They turned out cute, huh?
Aiden liked the marshmallow snowman so much he demanded another craft right away. Thus, the "C is for Candy" craft.
Would have been a good idea right after Halloween, but hey, it was still cute.

The "O is for Owl" craft was pretty cute too. Kids learned about the "o" sound and triangles.
You wouldn't think that these would cement concepts into kids heads, but they did! Aiden can answer "What letter does the word 'owl' start with?" as well as "What letter does the word 'candy' start with?" correctly. Thank you No-time-for-flashcards lady. You're the best.

Outdoor Fun

Who says you have to stay indoors? The kids love playing in the backyard no matter the weather. So here they are, bundled, and having a blast!

Aiden is showing you how his breath makes fog. :)

These are actually the last of the photos I've taken recently... already covered Christmas and Audrey's birthday so what is there? Guess I better get to shootin' or I won't have anything to post!

Audrey's 2nd Birthday party

This year we celebrated Audrey's birthday Rainbow-style. She had a blast!
Here she is stringing fruitloops to make a rainbow necklace.

Our rainbow decor!

The rainbow cake, pre-cut!

The beauty herself!

Coloring her rainbow coloring page.

The rainbow cake! Tah Dah!!! It was my inspiration for a rainbow party! See the original here.

Diving right in! She might have liked the lollipops more than her cake!

Enjoying opening her gifts - pretty sure she got a good idea of how it's done at Christmas. She loved her gifts!

Thank you everyone who was able to make it to her party this year! And Happy 2nd Birthday to my darling! We love you!

J wants a daily post -

so here it is. No promises about tomorrow, but here is today (3rd day in a row, is it?)
Our little group for Christmas dinner.

Audrey's new super furry vest. Cute, no?

Making pie crust - a boy after his mom's heart, if you ask me.

Grandma might have accidentally switched the tags on these gifts. Though I really do think my Dad asked for silk jammies. Mom, that green dress shirt would really bring out your eyes.

Aiden adores his Superman outfit. He wore it all Christmas day. So much for the cute Christmas sweater I picked out several months ago for him. Whatever, pick your battles, right? He had a blast.

Think he likes this book much? Um, yeah. P.S. I skipped the "Aiden in his new Mickey Mouse" tightie-whities. It's a pretty proud picture, I must say. Ahem, Aiden you can thank me in 10 years.

Audrey's getting the hang of opening gifts here.

Played this for the first time with Aiden today and he loved it. Brought back all kinds of fond game-playing memories.

Jeremiah feigning excitement over Audrey's new coat. Cutest coat ever on her, though.

This is actually from Christmas eve. We started the "open new pj's on Christmas eve" tradition a couple of years ago. It's fun and the kids both really liked having new jammers.
